|Position||Senior Groovy/Grails Developer|
|Client Name||Minnesota Department of Education (MDE)|
Our direct client, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), is in need of a Senior Groovy/Grails Developer to design and code (in Grails) enhancements to the Early Learning Scholarship Application (ELSA) and for production support. The Early Learning Scholarship Program is an initiative created by the governor and finalized by the 2013 MN Legislature to expand access to high-quality early childhood education programs for children ages three to five with high needs. The resulting online system allows a range of external users to process scholarship applications and administer scholarship awards. These enhancements will restructure and streamline the current scholarship payment system role access, processing, and administration procedures to reduce required system administration needs as well as implement required application infrastructure upgrades and user interface updates.
The success of this engagement is dependent on frequent interaction with other member the IT project team and the business area to communicate requirements, update status, validate implementation, and organize system integration and deployment. The candidate will work onsite at the MN Dept. of Education office in Roseville, MN. While remote access is a possibility, it is expected to be used infrequently and must be requested upfront at the beginning of the contract.
This project has a very experienced team. The candidate must be able to take business requirements and work independently to complete assignments. However, the candidate must also be able to work with other team members to implement required functionality and to resolve data and system integration problems. The candidate must also be engaged in project team meetings and provide regular project status updates.
